Tour packages in Punta Isla Lake Resort

Punta Isla

Punta Isla is perhaps the most popular resort in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato for many possible reasons. One is that, its infrastructure is built beautifully. The garden provides small nooks where children can play hide and seek. It also has an open restaurant for walk-in costumers aside from those who are staying with them. Their restaurant boasts the most number of tilapia recipes in their menu. And speaking of billeting with them, they also offer a reasonable accommodation package with prices ranging from 950/night ($22) good for to people to 2,000/night ($46.50) good for 18 people.

Punta Isla also offers catering services, garden wedding packages, baptismal and birthday reception venue, seminar and conferences venue, and other occasions your family wishes to celebrate. It also boasts its floating restaurant with a giant tilapia on its roof, boating, and kayaking. If you wish to go swimming, the resort has a swimming pool too.

Considering that it is very accessible, people will immediately think of Punta Isla when they want to spend summer vacation in Lake Sebu. But aside from that, I believe that Punta Isla is a one-stop shop for travellers since it also offers guided tours for their guests.

Landscape Photography and Sunrise Garden Lake Resort

Sunshine

Sunrise Garden Lake Resort should be in your itinerary when you visit Lake Sebu specially if you are a landscape photographer. It offers a beautiful sunrise and an opportunity to commune with nature. The resort is not visually busy and provides a perfect marriage of land and water.

Logistically, you can say that Sunrise Garden Lake Resort is far from the center because it is already part of Barangay Lake Seloton but if you ask me, I would rather stay here than in one of those resorts that are always fully booked and/or always crowded because of an open restaurant. Let’s just say that if I decide to travel to an urban area, then I expect to be in a crowded and noisy place. But if I want to have a laid back vacation, then this resort will always be part of my choices.

It offers room accommodations for a very reasonable price ranging from 650/night ($15) to 1,800/night ($42) with complimentary breakfast of delicious tilapia recipes, wifi, and hot and cold shower. Guests are also allowed to use the swimming pool during their stay. You may also choose to be in one of the typical hotel room type of accommodation or you can rent your own cottage.

Since it is a little too far from the Poblacion, the resort offers transportation services as well as boodle fights and wedding packages. If you want to bring out the inner diva in you, they also have karaoke.

But most importantly, the view is so magical that it becomes a wonderful subject for landscape photography. All you need is a 10-22mm lens and you’re good to go. I don’t have that kind of lens so I just used my good old 70-200mm for the photos published at www.behance.net/djsumaylo. Don’t forget to click the “like” button!

What can Mountain Lake Eco Resort offers?

Mountain Eco Park

Located at Brgy. Bacdulong, Mountain Lake Eco Resort is a quite recluse from the urban life and even the Poblacion life in Lake Sebu.

Funded by ICTUS Premier Co-operative, Mountain Lake Eco Resort tries to live by its marketing tag which is “Celebrating Life with Nature.” First, it is the only solar powered resort in Lake Sebu with free wifi. The resort also allows you to explore the islets and lagoons around the area through various activities like the lake cruise, which also doubles as their floating restaurant, boating, and kayaking.

Who is Lang Dulay?

Lang Dulay

One of the reasons why Cultural tourism is getting stronger in the Philippines is that there is a strong determination from the indigenous groups as well as the government to conserve the Filipino people’s identity since each indigenous group in the country carry its own history, practices, and beliefs in their way of life, arts, and crafts. This is what I have observed in most of my works involving tourism and cultural conservation.

Despite tourism having two opposing poles – the conservation and pollution of the land, people, and culture, the government invests in this endeavor and at the same time recognizes people, national artists and national living treasures, as champions of culture and the arts.

This in turn made my meeting with Lang Dulay, a T’nalak dreamweaver from Lake Sebu, South Cotabato and awarded as National Living Treasure (1998) during the time of President Fidel V. Ramos, an experience worth documenting.

Pope Francis visits the Philippines

Flowers

“Please know that Jesus never lets you down.” – Pope Francis

These flowers are for all the Catholics in the country celebrating the visit of His Holiness Pope Francis. He is currently holding mass at Tacloban Airport. The moment Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) hit the Philippines last year, he immediately said he wanted to visit Leyte. According to him, “I have no words to say to you but the Lord has words for all of you.”

Lake Sebu Mountain Log Resort

Mountail Log

Going inside Lake Sebu Mountain Log Resort felt like going into another dimension. With its tall wooden gates covered with plants and an unpaved driveway reminding you of The Lord of the Rings movie, you would immediately say you would like to stay in this resort. Its restaurant, rooms and cottages that ranges from 600 to 3000 pesos per night, and function hall were hidden from view with a lot of plants. It offers a dining cottage where you are surrounded by water lilies and a wonderful view of the lake in your foreground and the mountains for your background. The resort also offers a wide array of tilapia recipes as well as other recreation activities including tilapia fishing if you are not that hungry. Cook your catch was their concept.
